Sydney High Tea

May 5, 2019

High tea in our second year grew to a wonderful audience of 40 guests. Our guest speaker spoke to her experience of losing her mum to domestic violence in a truly connecting and emotional day.

High tea in our second year grew to a wonderful audience of 40 guests. Guest Speaker, Amani Haydar - artist, lawyer, mum and advocate for women's health and safety, spoke about her experience losing mum as a result of domestic violence. She introduced us to the lasting impacts of mother loss, and specifically how the trial became a trauma in itself.

Stories such as Amani's are vital in helping our community understand grief in all it's forms, and feel comfortable sharing their own story. It was a truly emotional and connecting experience for all of us in attendance.
